Do you know that some events are more special than the others? E.g. Your birthday is a special day to you because it is once in a year. So also Palm Sunday is a special day for all the Celestians all over the world because it is once in a year and the beginning of the Passion Week. Palm Sunday is the last week of our Lord Jesus Christ earthly ministry. Palm Sunday gave birth to Easter Sunday and Pentecost Day.
WHY DID JESUS GO TO JERUSALEM ON A DONKEY?
He did that to fulfilled the prophecy of being a King, Messiah and Priest. Zachariah 9:9-11, John 12:12-15, Isaiah 62:11
WHY DID JESUS WEEP FOR JERUSALEM? Luke19:41-44
1) Jesus wept because they did not know what will give them peace.
2) Their ignorant will make them suffer in the hands of their enemies
3) They did not know the time of their divine visitations
4) Jesus wept because the sinners He loved would join His enemies to crucify Him. Luke 19:41-44
LESSONS FROM PALM SUNDAY
1) Jesus brought salvation to the whole world. Zach.9:9
2) He cut off chariots, horses and other instruments of war. Zach.9:10
3) He brought peace with everlasting dominion.
4) He sent forth prisoners out of the prisons where there was no water. Zach.9:11
5) He has set us free from the power of our villages over against us. Luke19:30. The donkey represents you and I. The donkey was not useful to himself, to the owner and the village until he was untied and gained freedom. We are all free indeed from the bondages of our enemies.
6) Jesus is worthy of our worship with joy and gladness. Luke19:30-40. The Pharisees said He should rebuke his disciples from praising Him, but Jesus replied them, if they stop praising Him, God will raise stones to praise Him. So let us come out and praise Jesus with joy and gladness.
7) We should participate in the Palm Sunday with our palm branches in our hands and rejoice. Rev.7:9-10
8) Jesus love us and had paid the price for us.
