Here is the story of a student who had an encounter with a Professor of Mathematics. The Professor posited a problem before the students and none could step up to it except for one. After so many attempts, He gave up because he thought he had tried all he could.

The professor called him an Amuretipin. They all assumed that Amuretin-pin was a word. But the same student who was unable to solve the Mathematics problem went back to the professor and asked, ‘Sir! Why did you call me an ‘Amuretin-pin’ and Above all what does it mean?

The man answered, ‘First! Amuretipin is not a word. It was born out of my imagination. Allow me to break it down, ‘Amú ìrètí rè pin’ meaning ‘A person that Gives up on hope’.

We all at certain points of our lives give up on the possibilities of God making a way because of the vicissitudes of life. Didn’t the Bible admonish us to Trust in the Lord with all our hearts? (Pro. 3:5-6). Also the Quran in Surah At-Talaq 65:3 states that whoever puts their trust in Him, He will be sufficient for them, as Allah will bring about what He intends, and He has set a measure for everything. Some people have by themselves told themselves words like ‘I can’t do it’, ‘it’s Impossible’. Philippians 2:5 says, “Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus…”. This is an indication that even Jesus had a perception of who he was. And he sold that to those around him and those people in turn sold it to us that we in the contemporary believe in Him.

For someone reading this, this is a word of hope for you to keep pushing and pressing on in life. Regardless, of what it may be, NEVER GIVE UP! God sees your struggles with your prayer life, faith life, Marital life, childlessness, health, peer pressures, addiction etc. Don’t stop trying to be better. Like the student who was striving for mastery, press on for more.

The reason why a lot of people don’t go far is because they give up way too early. Some have negative thoughts and even picture a negative end for themselves. This is a message for someone, ‘There is always a way’. God will definitely reward you for your diligence.

Ps. Hey! Hold on there before you start checking your dictionary or Google for what Amuretin-pin means. It not a word that exists. Rather, it was born out of my imagination.
