The Anointment exercise occurs twice a year. During this period, Celestians across the globe embark on a pilgrimage to Imeko, Ogun State, Nigeria, to be anointed by the Pastor, Rev. EMF Oshoffa. This is done in accordance with the Celestial Constitution, inspired by [Acts 13:2-3, 1 Samuel 10:1, 1 Samuel 16:13, and Exodus 28:41].
Anointment in Celestial Church Of Christ is an act of commitment, rededication, and elevation in the last boat of salvation. It is truly sacred—especially for first-timers, who brim with innocence, novelty, and an undefiled passion to serve in the church. I believe if you want to know the worth of something, ask how much people are willing to sacrifice for it. And the Anointment is quite expensive. [Check the price list here.] Also to mention the financial and physical duress of transportation.
Now, we can talk about the ethics of the costs of Anointment, or we can discuss the political motives behind some individuals receiving Anointment—but that is not the point of discussion here.
The most important thing is that people are being anointed for the works of God. I fear there have been many noises about Anointments that we have forgotten there are Celestians who genuinely go for Anointment to serve the church. These genuine Celestians deserve the spotlight. I recall last year’s exercise—April 22, 2024—the night I was anointed. I saw an open vision in which God showed me the categories of sheep He was sending me to.
For those like this, I write to encourage you: remain consistent in service, diligent in your kingdom duties, and undistracted from the Great Commission. You, whose hearts have sought God at Imeko, Eleko etc, keep the fire burning and never let your girdle loose. Despite all these, as I behold the thousands who gather—both physically and via social media—I wish our goal was not just to produce more prophets, prophetesses, sidemen, sidewomen, evangelists, and clergies. Instead, I wish we could raise soldiers of Christ in the marketplace—enacting the will of God in media, politics, economics, education, tech, and other spheres of society.
When Anointment evolves into these, then we can truly be the church that cleanses the world. Everything happening at Imeko, other factions and in our various parishes are only of phase one. The real work begins when we take off our garments and step into the real world—where it truly matters.
CCC Hymn 904
Behold the path of truth I have made for thee,
Behold the path of truth I have made for thee,
Oh, lift ye the cross,
Oh, lift ye the cross.
Kindle ye the light amidst the world’s darkness,
So the world may know that I am the glorious King. Amen.
