In Celestial Church of Christ, we often hear and see members who claim to be oshofist or adopted sons of SBJ Oshoffa because they so much believe in the exemplary legacy that the Pastor Founder had laid down before he left this sinful world in 1985 with the vow to maintain, exhibit and continue in same manner.
Oshofist are redeemed and saved Celestial church worshipers who believed in Christ Jesus and stood strongly on the legacies and principles laid down by the founder himself through the leading of the Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus. More reasons why his legacies will forever remain undaunted, memorial and exemplary because he took a good path and worked tremendously on it. Though SBJ wasn’t a perfect man but I believe with these legacies; through the help of the Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus, he’s made perfect because we all testifies rightly concerning how the Lord divinely manifested himself especially during the burial of the late pastor founder where the sun moon and stars stood still at imeko.
However, the big rhetorical question for all CCC members is this, ARE WE STILL FOLLOWING THESE LEGACIES IN THE CHURCH TODAY?
Perhaps, the legacies of Saint SBJ Oshoffa that we have NEGLECTED over the years has led us to where we are now in this church and I pray that someday, the Lord Jesus will take absolute control and there would be peace, Love, care and harmony like the days of old.
Nevertheless, some of these exemplary legacies would be discussed briefly in this article while you read the rest in my recently published book titled SCRIPTURAL TEACHINGS AND REVELATIONS ON CCC DOCTRINES (Available in Nigeria and Ghana).
1) Legacy number one is OBEDIENCE: (1Sam 15:22)
obedience to God’s instruction was a major key for Saint SBJ Oshoffa without allowing distraction especially from those who felt they knew Catholic more than the pope. He showed obedience by submitting himself to the Lord and following every instruction given to him for the growth and establishment of the church which we are all enjoying today.
2) Legacy number two is ORDERLINESS (1Cor 14:40)
one of Saint SBJ Oshoffa’s legacies is the ability to put things in order. Orderliness was displayed and still on course in our various Services, orderliness in sitting arrangements, orderliness in anointment, orderliness in Prayer, orderliness in Hymns compilation and lots more. Sbj Oshoffa believes so much in orderliness as he copied such from his various heavenly Divine encounters, for God is a God of orderliness.
3) Legacy number three is FIRMNESS. (Psalm 93:5)
He was firm in taking decisions as being led by the holy spirit. He was not a doubtful person and was never pushed by people to disobey God’s instruction. Pressure came from several angles against a lot of things that we cherished in the church today but SBJ Oshoffa stood on his ground and that singular act spoke for him.
4) Legacy number Four is HUMILITY: (Mathew 23: 10-12)
Saint SBJ Oshoffa demonstrated what humility is all about. Always down to earth and ready to listen and care for his people. He never exhibited pride and never looked down on anyone even when his popularity and honour was acknowledged globally. He related with little children, adults, women and other denominations including Islamic religion without discrimination, nepotism or egoism.
5) Legacy number Five is LOVE and TEAM SPIRIT: (Heb 10:24-25)
The Founder also believed in Love, togetherness and involving people to know and understand what was given to him without hiding anything. He declared to everyone that he has given to us what was given to him without keeping anything to himself selfishly. He gave room for others to exhibit their God-given skills and showed everyone the true Love of Christ as he regularly eats together with people and crack jokes where necessary.
6) Legacy number Six is SPIRITUAL DIRECTION: (Romans 8:14)
Saint SBJ Oshoffa believed so much in the direction of the Holy Spirit and he never exhibited his own self reasoning or ideology into the fold despite being the founder. He made everyone to know that it’s our Lord Jesus Christ who owns the church and he is just a vessel unto honour that has found grace to be used as the founder. Everything you see in the church today concerning our liturgy in CCC was given to us by the leading of the Holy Spirit including our hymnals.

Conclusively, when you combine all of these legacies together, you would agree with me that Celestial church of Christ is not a church alone but a way of life given to you by grace for everyone to be saved and redeemed because our beloved founder has led us right, awaiting those that would continuously follow the path that our Lord Jesus Christ has paved for us to follow diligently and steadfastly.
Furthermore, This church is a sacred place, a house of prayer, where the presence of the Lord dwells for adequate body edification in Christ, purification of the soul and body, transformation and renewal of the mind and a boat of salvation for all humanity.
Long live the legacy of our Prophet and Pastor Founder, Saint Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa.
